Default New house alarm Perth area - Honeywell or Risco or..??

    Hi guys,
Have been reading the forum for a while but now decided it was time to speak up lol
I'd like to replace my old alarm (3 pir) with a newer one and add a perimeter alarm as well.
I will roughly need 10 reeds/gbd + the existing 3 pir will be replaced (hopefully using the original cables)
Everything is going to be hardwired and a 4th pir will be installed in the garage.

I had a quote for just under 3k for the honeywell vista 12 + tuxedo touch pad, and another quote for 2.5k for the risco lightsys 2.

Any opinions on the 2 system? I was hoping to also get a quote on the bosch system (3000 or 6000) but i have not found a bosch supplier/installer yet (Perth metro area).
The fact is I cant really find information on these systems (the Risco and the Honeywell))....does that mean they all are pretty much good....or the opposite lol??
    Thank you!

The Bosch Solution 3000 and 6000 are great to have. However you’ll have to note that the 3000 has a maximum capacity of 16 zones, although it comes with different keypads to choose from. The 3000 also has a mobile app that sends push notifications for alarms.
The 6000 is a higher end system, the app has to be subscribed.
Not a fan of the Tuxedo touch pad, have pulled out a number of them due to constant freezing.

    Thanks for your reply jrtech.

When I wrote I cant really find information on these systems I actually meant the Honeywell and the Risco not the Bosch ones
It was probably how it was written I have edited the post now
So then the real question is....what's your opinion the Risco Lightsys 2?

In regards to the bosch one...I did not now about the subscription for the 6000 so i can definitely exclude this one.
The 3000....16 zones....does a reed count as a zone? Sorry for the newbie question but alarm systems are something new to me.
Because if it is then I will have to exclude this on as well.

    Thanks heaps!!

The Risco Lightsys 2 is not widely used. I have only come across it a couple of times, therefore unable to give you any opinion.

The lightsys2 is a great system. Have installed plenty with no problems.
It's a true hybrid so you can have up to 48 wired zones and up to 50 wireless, a good selection of different keypads.
Plug on modules including IP, 3G GPRS, 4 way output expanders.
The RISCO app works great and is easy to set up and use. You can easily wire up garage doors for example and integrate them into the app for remote control.
    Here's some info

Any question let me know, happy to help

You (or someone else here) has referred to this a few times without providing relevant links etc. Would you care to?

Hi AdRock, thanks for the feedback.
Unfortunately the company that quoted me on the lightsys 2 mentioned afterwards that i had to pay $20 a months to access the cloud and for the app....basically like having a monitored alarm.
So i said no of course.
I'd like the idea of being able to control my alarm via smartphone (via app or ip doesnt make a difference), but dont want to pay ongoing fees.

Now I'm waiting for someone else to give me a quote on a paradox system otherwise I'm back to the first quote, which was Honeywell Vista + Tuxedo touchpad.

I don't know what to do

You will find most security companies will be starting to charge for the self monitoring options

Have to agree with you as hosting servers is not free.

You can't buy a phone and use it without paying for the network.
