    Default Combo CBand/KU LNB

Guys, I had a 'yasi' or something sounding like that, combo LNB with c &KU.
It is 'crumbled' and the c is physically smaller in diameter than normal (5mm). The KU was next to / offset.
So I am unable to just replace and now seek a new replacement.
Seeing a few on Google show combined into the one, whereas I had 2 separate.
Only drama is finding a supplier.
    Prefer an Aussie if available.
Looks like I can get one for $80 delivered from China. Sounds cheap.
However, the KU is 10750. Will this still work with Foxtel ? As I currently run 10700 and brain-dead on figuring out.

Looking at the specs, the Ku side appears to be a Universal type (split LO)

    2. L.O. Frequency: C Band: 5150MHz

    KU band 9.75/10.6GHz

They would be great if they can have 2X Cband and 2X Kuband so you can use it with Multiswitches

I have heard the reception quality of Ku band isn't very good on a large mesh dish (not to mention Optus skew issues) but how is the C band quality with one of these combined LNB's is it worse then a C band only LNB? I thought it would be nice to have one that does both but not at the expensive where both signals are much poorer

It's simply because combining two antennas and amps into one LNB is a compromise... convenience over performance.

There are professional-quality solutions available of combining separate C-Band and ku-band lnb's into a single feedhorn.

These are far superior to a cheap C/ku combined LNBF but an expensive alternative.

I finally received my LNB on Friday after it was cancelled by seller 6 weeks ago.
    Looks ok
No markings to set skew etc.
    Maybe some common sense needed....lol
OK, the C Band is as strong as my Zinwell. No more, no less.
    Got the skew about right.
    Now, majors issues with KU.
OK, to cut a long story short, after a day I found they actually assembled it incorrectly.
The KU was 33/66deg offset from the CBand setting.
I physical moved the KU 33deg [3 screws] and Whammo !!
    Got a fair bit more.
Initially on Intelsat 19 CBand perfect. Wasn't getting any of the 'Pink' channels on KU. Only about 50 all up.
Moved LNB and have 166 channels now on Intelsat 19 KU.
Also I get D2 where earler I couldn't get a signal for anything there.
My Measat 3 is exactly the same. No more channels there.
CBand hasn't changed, but I now have the KU's through the same.
Happy with the result. Didn't cost a fortune so I cant complain.

    Cheers

A few more days playing with and a few more issues.
Had the bloody connection for the CBand 'breakoff' the board.
Obviously when I nipped it up. Didn't realise for a few hours with me ripping me hair out etc.
Ended up banging Zingwell back in and skewed 100%.
Got a 77% for a channel then tried the combo.
The best I could skew was 72%
That also didn't pickup some of Measat 3 and Telsatr18 and NSS9.
So back to the Zingwell and signal is better.
The quality of the combo is cheap. Need to be careful 'tightening'
There are NO marking to set Horiz etc. The KU I believe was assembled 120/240 deg out.
Cheap device but OK if you know what your dealing with.
    Cheers, Saintaholic
