Hey Crypto - have you changed the battery? - if the charging chip U1700 has failed it won't charge a flat battery, but a battery with charge in it (eg a new battery) will allow it to boot and you can access the information

if I put a charged battery in the phone , all functions work ok however the battery discharges quickly and the charging port still doesn't work, ive been told that the tristar chip on logic board is faulty however to change this is very difficult.

Hey Crypto, yes the chip is difficult to change - the issue is the actual time to repair - if I was to replace the chip, it requires the motherboard to be removed from the phone - the specific heat shield removed, set up under my stereoscopic microscope, and then do some diagnostics and then attempt to repair the motherboard, put it back together and test to confirm it is fine................ chip about $10 - time $300 odd if not more, you can purchase a replacement phone for that

these guys are amazing what they can do

I got a iPhone 7 that stopped charging. Tried different cables, power supplies but no dice.
Fixed it though. It had pocket lint in the charger port which I blew out with compressed air.

Yeah I see a lot of that. The charger cable gets "wobbly" and it doesn't go all the way in - also you find the ear speaker fine mesh blocks up and you cant hear - a toothbrush and metho, with compressed air fixes that one
