These ads have been appearing for ages and because it does contain some Facts, distorted they may be, can be the only reason it hasnt been shut down by the ACCC.

Firstly there are NOT millions of Australians available to begin with let alone have Subscription TV to be able to cancel it.
From what I read of US Cable TV of some years ago, it wasnt encrypted as such and you could buy a STB from a 'Backyarder' (as we did with the Gold Cards) and connect to the cable to watch it until the companies found a way to 'HIT' the service and knock out the dodgy STB's.
Satellite TV too was pretty open as it was here until technology was able to encrypt the signals.
And that's what I feel they are basing their claims on.
Very likely it Might work if your in a good reception area for FTA digital TV

I am sure this devise was advertised on one or all of the INFOMERCIAL programs but I dont think so in recent times, mostly in print only.

It would be interesting to see one tested in several locations and see exactly what it does and what the conditions are for you to Return it for a refund .
