Default Fleetwood Mac Tell Lindsey Buckingham To... Go Your Own Way

    Fleetwood Mac Fires Lindsey Buckingham.

Replacing him on tour with Neil Finn and Hearbreakers' Mike Campbell.

Might be interesting, but it just won't be the same.

Who knows...they're all old and probably cantankerous by now.........................

How the F**K can one of the ORIGINAL Fleetwood Mac members be fired? He (along with John McVie)IS Fleetwood Mac!!

It would be like the ELVES firing SANTA ????

And a second question just what is/was the transgression that fired him?

How MANY songs did the current "Fleetwood Mac" members write as compared to Lindsay?

No one is indispensable in a band.
Hark back to the Beetles who as they were taking off, fired Peter Best and hired Ringo Starr?
I was reading how KISS was formed by 2 who then held auditions for a third and Ace Freely was chosen.
AC/DC have had 3 Voices, Bon Scott, Jimmy Barnes and now 'whatisname'.
    Also a change of Drummer.......
It wont be the first time a Group has replaced a member who has quit, died or been fired so they could continue on so why cant Fleetwood Mac do the same?
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

AC/DC. Neil Smith was the original bass player. His poor eyesight saw him leave when they started to get known.

Fleetwood Mac are a different ball game with their incestuous relationships. Everyone has had a go at each other.

Lindsay Buckingham didn't join till 74, when they changed their music completely from the original blues style, to the mainstream style they've played ever since.

Above somebody said band members come and go all the time . . . not the good bands/groups. Unless the band member died off as in AC-DC!

Beatles was used as an example, Yeah Pete Best was replaced but Ringo stayed until the end.

No Rolling Stones (Still popular) member has been fired (amazing that a certain one of them hasn't died off though).

Journey canned Steve Perry, but was lucky to find that Philippine kid.

ZZTop is still together with the originals, beards a little longer and grayer that's all!

There's probably other good bands that have stayed together with the exception of a member dying out.

    Hypnotized is/was considered blues?

"Hypnotized" is a song written by Bob Welch. The song originally featured on Fleetwood Mac's 1973 album Mystery To Me.

As bob_m_54 said, FM were primarily a blues band in the early days, and a good one. Peter Green was their founding guitarist, and a superb blues player he was against anyone before or since in that genre...one of the greats.

They are exceptions to the rule. From the very beginning, bands have formed, split, merged and intermingled more than you're average hillbilly family tree. That's what keeps what keeps music alive and dynamic. Go back over some history of all the best bands and you'll see what I mean.
