Nah, I was just being a little sarcastic.

It's just a spam message doing the rounds. I don't watch porn.

A lot of people said they have got it before, and someone said they actually saw 300USD's worth of bitcoin in this person's wallet - some poor guilt-ridden soul paid them.

Well, yes and no. I don't think the isolation/"island unto himself" part really describes him anymore. Yes, he polarized a lot of people with his views initially for sure, but I think he's made allies too, useful allies. No two leaders will ever agree fully of course, but I do think he has some backup in the form of Britain/Europe at least. I think a lot of people wished more than anything else that he would act completely reckless and push the nuke buttons and what not, so they could say "We told you so!" and to a certain degree, I think they have been somewhat disappointed.

I mean, yeah, of course, I'm not going to sit here and say X, Y and Z will never happen - a lot can happen still. People respond in various ways under pressure or having to think on their feet.

No doubt, I would definitely agree the world's leaders are being tested like they haven't been tested in a long time. Things are definitely not black and white anymore either, but more grey. Some leaders do find themselves strange bedfellows regarding various things nowadays.

I'm not losing any sleep over the nuclear war rhetoric. Neither Putin nor Trump are fools. And if the MSM either here or the US tells you it's raining in your location, it's a very good idea to check. I suspect a lot of Putin's excesses have been because the US was long on rhetoric and short on action. Obama's management of foreign policy was a disaster and getting them nowhere. Being either too hard or too soft lead to the same place. War. It is important to get the right balance on these issues. Whatever you think of Trump his response has been limited and, despite some aggressive rhetoric, (much like Putin), he has made the limits of US action very clear. It is of course not impossible that Assad did not authorise the attack, but based on his history I have little difficulty with the idea that he did. Alternately, if Russia was wanting to test Trump's metal then such an attack by Assad would be a useful way to do so. Trump really has little to gain from making up an excuse to attack chemical weapons related targets in Syria.

One only has to look at some of Russia's actions under Putin and read the rhetoric to realise that giving in only encourages further outrages. What is needed is for both the US and Russia to be aware of just how far they can go. It would be totally irrational for Russia to directly attack the US militarily over Trump's very limited actions here. Far more likely is that Russia will do nothing but talk and threaten, or that there will be some very limited response that will play well in the Russian media but have very little practical effect.

Finally, a question. How do you think the US should be dealing with Putin?

    How can anyone actually know?

What is Putins goal? What advice is he getting and from whom? Is he heeding that advice? There are so many unknowns that the pitfalls of the history of diplomacy are laid bare.

My opinion of Trump is extremely low (personally I regard him at best as a retard) so THAT affects any judgement I might make. We all have that problem regardless of our views of him, good or bad. It's human nature.

Putin WON'T start flinging nukes however. That I am certain of. He, at least, is not that stupid in my view even if his history suggests he's a cold calculating killer.
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

I think ppl are watching/listening to farrrr too much western TV/radio 'news'

Why should the US or any other nation (and their brainwashed citizens) have to 'deal' with Putin ??

He might not be a saint but certainly a better leader for the betterment of Russia than countless other countries I could mention eg the US

The answer is much simpler than some might think. Putin restored a second super power capable to hold US back and that doesn't make US and other US puppets happy.
Cold war is back. This time it might lead to bigger disaster at the end.

Given that almost anyone and everyone has a camera these days, why haven't seen at least a picture of these mounds of dead bodies from the alleged chemical attack ?

I am not saying it didn't happen, but lets see some sort of proof before firing off missiles at people.

Given that its alleged Syria has done this multiple times, I would expect to see at least one photo of a large group of people foaming from the mouth and nose.

For those who are interested in looking beyond the simplistic, facile mainstream media coverage of the Syrian war, the following two articles provide an excellent background to the truth of the matter.

This is not a civil war waged by disaffected citizens against a bloodthirsty tyrant.........it is a deliberate externally-fomented conflict designed to achieve predetermined geopolitical and financial outcomes.

The entire crux of the Syrian conflict can be distilled down to the following two diagrams, lifted from one of the articles.

Arguments about the character of particular national leaders, in the context of this background, is about as relevant as arguing about the unseemliness of a skin rash when you are suffering from terminal cancer.

Anyone who expects war to bring out the best in leaders is going to be sorely disappointed.....particularly in this day and age.

If you find that idea far-fetched, I suggest you read "War is a racket" by Major General Smedley D. Butler:

War Is a Racket is a speech and a 1935 short book, by Smedley D. Butler, a retired United States Marine Corps Major General and two-time Medal of Honor recipient. Based on his career military experience, Butler frankly discusses how business interests commercially benefit (including war profiteering) from warfare. He had been appointed commanding officer of the Gendarmerie during the United States occupation of Haiti, which lasted from 1915 to 1934.
Here are the two articles referred to above:

The Secret Stupid Saudi-US Deal on Syria. Oil Gas Pipeline War

Is the fight over a gas pipeline fuelling the world’s bloodiest conflict?

There are a lot of bad guys associated with this fiasco.......very few of them are the ones you hear about in the media.

Further to my reference to the book "War is a racket" above, I have found a free PDF version of it online......the link follows for those who may be interested.

It is only 14 pages long, and well worth the read.

    The author, Smedley Butler:

Smedley Darlington Butler (July 30, 1881 – June 21, 1940) was a United States Marine Corps major general, the highest rank authorized at that time, and at the time of his death the most decorated Marine in U.S. history. During his 34-year career as a Marine, he participated in military actions in the Philippines, China, in Central America and the Caribbean during the Banana Wars, and France in World War I. Butler later became an outspoken critic of U.S. wars and their consequences, as well as exposing the Business Plot, an alleged plan to overthrow the U.S. government.

Then you’ll just love the western mainstream media.

None of that boring, objective, factual bullshit that makes the world appear complex, convoluted, and multi-facetted, creating the impression that there are two sides to every story and that things are not always as they seem.

That sort of news coverage really makes your head hurt, and drives you to just want to switch off or, better still, change channels and watch the cricket.

Nope….tune in with us to the western mainstream media and you too can drift off into an anesthetising fairyland of prefabricated heroes and villains, unequivocal right and wrong, pure shades of black and white, and where you will gain a sense of moral superiority and clarity that will immediately enable you to distinguish good from evil.

So, come join us in the injecting room we call the mainstream media…..and drift off on a trip into a world where we in the west are always right, and everybody else is a despot or a bloodthirsty tyrant.

I’m pretty sure you’ll like it.

I find it amazing that all of these Syrian men, women and children decided to get up on April 7th and go to the hospital for treatment/surgery of a chemical attack that didn't happen!

I'll agree prices have gone up, but that is OPEC greed!

It has NOTHING to do with Syria! They are not even in the top 13 oil exporters and in FACT are in the 60th position of the top 100 oil producing nations!

A conjecture that PRESIDENT Trumps attack on Syria has had an effect on world crude prices is a pretty good stretch of the imagination!

    Apparently something I can't comprehend!

    SYRIA’S OIL AND GAS SECTOR
    * Syria has not exported any oil since late 2011, when international sanctions came into force.

    * “Syria is not a major oil producer (as was Libya), nor is it a major transit point for oil and gas exports (as is Egypt),” said Julian Jessop, head of commodities research at Capital Economics.

“Instead the concern is the risk that Western intervention in Syria could prompt a wider regional conflict, given the support that Iran has provided to the regime of (President Bashar al-) Assad,” he added.

    * Prior to the sanctions Syria produced 370,000 barrels per day (bpd), roughly 0.4 percent of global supplies, and exported less than 150,000 bpd, mainly to Europe. The major oil companies working there before the sanctions were Royal Dutch Shell and Total.

. . . . and why would the Syrians and Russians block chemical weapons inspectors if there was NO chemical attack?

    From a USA Today report . . .
