you say you are creating iso and that converting to mkv is causing
quality loss then why not just pull out the VOB file from the iso
almost every media player will have no issues with that format
and you will not loose any quality if the iso created was from dvd,s.

@enf.........could you do me a favour.
I assume you have the Micro2, not the Micro2+ ?.....if so, could you go into the "System Information" menu option (off-screen below" Restore default setting" option) and tell me what software version you get?
Reason I ask is that the Micro2+, which is supposed to be an upgrade of the Micro2, is showing "Wintal V1.0."
I find that a bit odd....I would have thought it would show 1.1 or 1.2 or some such, being an upgraded device.....perhaps not.
Could be interesting as the "Full DVD ISO support" is a new feature in the Micro2+.
It would be interesting to know what is in the older model, if that is what you have.
Currently in communication with the supplier, who is being extremely helpful........offering me the option to either return the unit immediately (they've already sent the return authorisation), or wait for a bit while they see what they can come up with the supplier. Time's running short before our departure, but it's probably worth a try.
@fandtm666......yes, there are a number of other options......I just thought, perhaps naively, that I could just buy a unit that would play what I already had.
If that idea falls in a hole, I'll have to look at all the other options.

No TD,
You misread my post. I said I had a PVR from that manufacturer that was excellent, not a media player. Sorry if there was confusion.....I feel guilty now.
Although the seller seems to be coming to the party, or at least attempting to.
I still think that excellent conversion is easily possible with the right tools....

My bad!
Using Handbrake at the moment.......have used Vidcoder, and MakeMKV.........I liked the latter, but it was only a trial version and I was too tight to buy it.
Yeah, quality is OK if you ease off on the compression.......but, boy, it's a time-consuming process.
@philquad,
Yeah, could do that..........but then I'd have to leave the missus at home to make room for the DVDs in the campervan.
Hmmmmmmmm...........
OK..........You clearly know what you are doing.
Handbrake is excellent, but you need Makemkv to do the best job of converting the iso. Then either transcode using Handbrake (gazillions of options) or leave as an mkv.
Makemkv has a thread to get the latest beta serial for more time, but if you uninstall your version and then reinstall the latest beta itself, you get more time as well. Either will give you virtually endless use of Makemkv....
New beta serial almost always available in this post....
The latest version here....
Yes, it takes time. But if you are being lied to by the manufacturers of these players it may be the best option, at least in the short term.
