That has to be my biggest pet these days, cafes or restaurants that serve up food on a piece of timber or worse, a black slate tile.

Sadly today the common old 'Sanger' aint cheeep no more.
In my Town a sandwich bar with no frills or crap was selling 2 slices with Bread and Butter was $2 and I think Vegemite was a $1 extra.
A Ham, Cheese and Tomato sandwich (untoasted) was $5, toasted add $1.
If you wanted to 'custom' a sandwich, most ingredients were 50 cents extra.
Several months ago this placed closed and when another decided to offer a limited range of Sandwiches a few weeks later , the Ham, Cheese and Tomato had now jumped to $7.

Every now and again I make my own in the Sandwich maker,


One slice of bread, buttered on both sides, cut hole in middle,
Put on S/Maker and break egg into hole, close lid,

Them I get other slices of bread, buttered on contact side and put on each Ham or lamb or corned Beef , cheese ,tomato, bacon relish etc and open lid,
Put one new slice on bottom plate, put one with egg now nearly cooked on top and last slice on top of that, shut lid and let toast.
I hate to think what this would cost at any Up or Down market Sanger maker.

I've never liked the idea of the board thing, unless it's under plates. It HAS to be a huge potential health risk...
