That is sad, I'd not have considered him that old, but, come to think of it, I ain't too far off 75 either.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

    RIP...

Yeah, a whole lotta memories there...
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

One of those voices from my childhood that was very familiar. He put everything in to it, something that just doesn't happen today. RIP big bloke.

75.... I wouldn't have put him at that age, given the energy he always displayed.

His age shouldn't have really been a surprise, as he's been around as long as I can remember.

Thanks for your passion for sport.

A bit of a surprise, as I thought he died many years ago from a heart attack. Obviously survived it.
R.I.P Darrell. He was a nice guy.

He was a chronic smoker. Must have been several packets a day.
We saw a lot of him when doing sound for the Surf Lifesaving Championships.
You could always find him puffing away on the back steps of the commentary box.

    Sad to read
But I guess none of us get out alive.

    Could never forget his work
Or the Wide World of Sports days.

Thanks for the call Darrell ... R.I.P.

I vaguely remember He rode a whacking big Motorcycle and there was an 'incident' not far from where he lived on the Central Coast.
He seemed to drop out of sight after that and now looking back, I wonder if this was the beginnings of his suffering from Dementia that I saw mentioned as a cause of his passing.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
