I have wondered for some time if the device manufacturer only stipulates 'X' Value because that's what they tested their devise to rather than it is 'incompatible'?
I recently bought a 128GB SD card and shoved it into 'something' that says it is good for a much lower SD card than that so I am taking the risk that it wont do as Oceanboy reports and die, gradually or otherwise.
Unless someone can advise a solution to Oceanboy's query, if I was storing sensitive Data I didnt not want to loose, I would only be using SD cards of the value approved by the devises maker.
As a thought, could it be the devise maker considers the stated SD card value are more than adequate to suit all but the most professional of users and wont or dont want to spend money on R&D to increase the stated value?
