Mirror Mirror on the wall......

Hmmm as a neighbor youd be rather pissed off at the reflections and glare that would throw around, with that amount of panels mounted there would be minimal benefit with those mirrors

definitely never seen anyone go to such lengths, but also
those panels would be putting out jack with the amount of shading
on them

Yeah, i thought it was rather odd too.
Panels seem to be mounted flat, so i understand the process
But where does the light go the rest of the time and could this idea be of much benefit, apart from killing a lot of birds that thought it was a clean flight path

I know some Solar Farm use reflectors, but that is a different process
Once a panel has reached its max output, adding more light isn't going to help, is it?

I appreciate it might be a clever idea to catch some sunlight that is out of effective range, ie: morning sun or late arfternoon sun
But it would have to be a lot more reflection than what is being used here

Without doing the Maths, maybe they thought due to the less than desirable placement of the Solar Panels, they might gain some benefit from using those mirrors.
The only real way to tell would be to record what ever the Panels were generating before adding the mirrors and what their putting out now.
I would be one who would think that a mirror reflects back what hits it and unlike a Solar Hot water collector, Heat is Not what your after.

I guess it helps at times of the day when the panels would otherwise be in shade. Reflecting more light onto an already fully illuminated panel probably wouldn't produce as much extra power as you might expect, because the panel would get hotter...which decreases output.

I am sure I read that there are or were some panels that either had to have it all exposed to Sunlight or it either decreased the output or it didnt generate at all if any part was shaded in some way.
The way I read it was the shaded part became 'resistive', like a dead cell in a Battery and affected the output.
