    Default Win10 update issue.

One of my kids was using our toshi laptop last friday and looks to have done an upgrade while she was doing her homework, it was working fine and connected to one of our wifi access points but now the wifi hardware has dissappeared ?
I did a system restore to the closest date which was 4 months ago but that didn't improve things, device manager doesn't show any available hardware and dont know who the manufacturer of the wifi card is to look for a driver. there is no switch to turn the wifi on like my older XP toshi laptop ?
I havent looked but i assume these are a removable card ?

    thats a bummer
have you hit the scan for hardware icon in device manager?
if its a newer laptop it will have built in wireless
sure theres no key to turn it on & off
id invest in a few of these cheapo usb thingys

    real handy

Start in safe mode and check in device manager then.
They may show up and allow you to delete and hopefully the next reboot will find the driver.

If it's a Toshi-Bah Lappy then pressing <Fn> and <F12> together might just turn it back on. That is the key combo on my Toshi lappy. Also have a look in the bottom RH corner of of the screen of the taskbar and see if a your network connections show up there. (A picture that looks like a windscreen wiper switch icon).
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Only icon there is the usual network connection pc with plug, will try the F buttons and see what happens.

Looks like it was an update that disabled the wifi card, hooked up to lan last night and after about 2hrs when it has finished we magically got wifi back again.
