I really have no idea. The chap just said it's what NBN Co. designed for this last bit of our estate.

Good luck with it. I reckon you will be happy with it. I'll say that my connection gives constant 46 to 48 down and 15 to 17 up. Very reliable.

13 emails from NBN and TPG (my provider) advising of 7 different dates and we are out to June 2019 now

    Unbelievable

3 weeks to the advised installation date and counting - over 2 years late so it better be worth the wait 😛
Ordered 100mbps from FTTC so we have high expectations

Nobody turned up last Fri. Telstra called at 5pm to say nobody will be coming due to duct issues. I said thanks who's going to pay for my day off next time? Rude person couldn't care less. So I said lets cancel the order. I'm going to run ADSL until I'm forced off and I won't go with Telstra now. It's the best it's been in 7yrs lol. I almost but be the last person on it. Most people in my court now have fibre to the home.

with NBN, unless you payd $80-$100/month for 100Mbps then it's worth it. Otherwise a cheaper plan at 12Mbps, 25Mbps is slower than the 4G on your mobile phone, which has been available for years. NBN isn't worth it unless you want the 100Mbps for home use.

I think everyone in my street is now of Fibre. But because everything is going through a concentrator or something so speeds seem to be limited to 20mb/s!!! So much for having fibre. Telstra stuffed us around. We took a day off etc with nobody turning up only to get a rude phone call at 5pm saying they couldn't hook us up. My partner was quite upset at the rudeness so when he called me I said please cancel. Since everyone left adsl I have my fastest speed ever of 5mb/s and can stream quite happily. Not full HD but good enough quality. We are not getting notices from telstra they want to cancel our phone and adsl becaue NBN is available. I think I'll tell them we just want to keep our phone to give them the shits lol

    200GB of Optus 4G is $60 a Month Leroy, you'll get 30Mbs + every day! (more like 50Mbs to 60Mbs)
And Australia Wide, Not location locked

    NBN, pfft... fook off

This deal has been out for ages now, they are probably about to update it to more data or a cheaper price.
Do you pay Line Rental on NBN Fibre?

If you are clever, you can also make all your phone calls on it

I find this post kind of ironic/funny because I was being poo pooed when I posted on Austech about the NBN being redundant before it's even built. This would have been before 4G and definitely before 5G was dreamed of and I said wireless technology will overtake the speed of the NBN. Well guess what, I've seen on TV the speed tests of over 1,000 mb/s downloaded on 5G. Hahahaha....yeh I was wrong lol

I find 5G a bit of joke to be honest
Fook all range, antennas every were

Im still on 3G getting 20-30Mbs, what more speed do you need?

5G will be the End Game for NBN

3G speed is fast enough for what I do. It trumps my 5mb/s. I'll look into the wireless Optus option thanks.

At my old place I had Optus cable which regularly delivered 90 mbs at least till they started pushing all the Movie packages in the area then it dropped a bit.

Move house and optus cable runs right out the front but not allwed to connect to it. Must be NBN but it's not here yet. Couple of months. 2 fking years and several letters/ junk mail about it being round the corner and still not even close.
Thing that really shits me is the 12 Mbs they say I'll only be able to get where I am will cost more than double what I was paying for optus cable and getting 8x the speed!
Whole thing is completely ridiculous. Should have been stopped years ago and those behind it locked up.

I'll have a look at the Optus 4G. I just changed my Mobile service this week from Vodafked to Amaysim whom use optus as the carrier. Already my signal strength at home here is 75% instead of the insufficient at most times to work.

Really want nothing to do with NBN. It's just an ongoing train wreck and insult to peoples intelligence. Seems like using it would be condoning the biggest corruption and waste of money ever made in this country for a while.
Don't agree with it, don't want to be a part of or give it any support .

Thanks for the 4G tip, I'll check it out and see if I can get it here.
