Hills Reliance 8 Install Problems
Hi All,
This is the first alarm I've ever installed, so please excuse the newbie questions.
Today I replaced my dead DAS-DL150 system with a Hills Reliance R8 system and 2 x Hills LCD Code Pads. I installed new Bosch PIRs about 6 months ago and am reusing the existing screamer / strobe and siren. I've got a couple of problems that I am hoping someone can help me with.
The house has 6 PIRs so I have enabled zone doubling and put the correct value resistors in. I've done the programming to enable the zone doubling, and that part seems to be working.
The siren seems to have gone open circuit when I powered up the system. and I'm getting the "Control - Siren Trouble" message. I guess that I'll be up the ladder tomorrow to have a look.
I must have fat-fingered some programming commands and now, with the system disarmed, every time one of the inputs goes open circuit, the keypads start beeping and I need to punch in the arm/disarm code to turn it off. This is not once, but every time the PIRs detect movement. This one is really annoying so if anyone cane tell me where I screwed up, that would be great,
I programmed the main code pad (*94) as 1 /area 1 and the other as 2 /area 1 and then I got a"Control - Fail to Comm" error. The other error I see is "Expansion Power Trouble"
If any clever person can let me know where I've gone wrong on any or all of these issues, I would really appreciate it
Thanks all

Update. The outside siren is indeed blown, so I'll get a new one.
I defaulted the system and started to enter the commands manually. It was all good until I got to the set clock *97 bit and then the keypad beeping kicked off again. I must be doing something wrong.
Also after I've defaulted the system, the only error (*2) I'm seeing now is about the siren. So I'm guessing that trying to setup up the second keypad yesterday (keypad 2 / partition 1) is upsetting it. I haven't tried to set up the second keypad today.
I've had to stop touching it today as the beeping is driving the old girl crazy.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

Is your outside siren a horn speaker or 12volt siren? If using a 12volt siren put a 3k3 resistor across siren output to clear siren trouble

Thanks Secure. Its a horn speaker. I'll pick up another through the week.
