LNBF's are fixed... not adjustable.
Even if you were able to alter the tuning, the physical antenna sizes are different between Ku and Ka bands.
Has anybody had any experience with this?
Curious to see if I can pick up anything on H 8/9, so would need to get a ka-band lnb and retune the LO to go down to 18.1 GHz, the lowest one I can find is a inverto which has an lo at 19.7 GHz.
Like in theory I know what needs to happen you open it up connect it to a oscilloscope start tuning it.
Just wondering if anybody has ever done anything like this.

Ham radio ops have moved the freq of some KU LNB’s by grinding the DRO puck inside to get them to RX 10 GHz band.

Statistically, if you wait long enough, everything will happen!
I'll be buying a ka-band LNB and retuning it so the input range is lower. Not doing a ku to ka conversion.
Hmm if grinding the puck works for ku I wonder if I can do the same with ka

Buying the ka-band LNBF? They're on ebay
Returning not sure that's why I asked here, I thought I could just open it up and retune it using the screw, saw a few YouTube videos that seemed to indicate that's what it's there for.
I have done it but its hard to get the freq correct by setting the dro screw to a received signal on the down converted tuner
