Default [HELP] Need radio code for 2003 Holden Astra

Hey guys I'm not sure if there is an open thread about this already; I tried looking but failed. Anyway I have a 2003 Holden Astra and after removing the battery the radio has locked itself and I really don't feel that charging $35 by Holden is appropriate :/ Can anyone help?
    The VIN number is W0L0TGF6935164385; it's a Blaupunkt 520.

    Cheers,

    Tim

Somewhere in the mists of time it was suggested the last 4 digits were the code.
Was that radio standard with that car?
I have written the number for mine down in both the workshop manual and the hand book that came with the car, usually we can always find one or the other eventually.

Here's a thought for Car owners everywhere, make an entry on your Mobile (as everyone has one) of a name like Astra or Crown or Charger and make up a 10 digit mobile number (040XXXXWXYZ) only the last 4/5/6 digits are the code for your Radio.........

Yeah, the Blaupunkt 520 was standard on a few of Holdens of the era. I'll try the last four digits of the VIN, though I've heard from others that it hasn't worked.

Someone on this board MAY be able to help you. The Vin won't do you any good IIRC. You need the serial of the 520...to get that you will have to pull the unit out.

There are also Holden forums out there who may be able to help.

Okay, thanks for that. The numbers on top of the unit are BP2391 5 7448426. On the back is 92 078 477, and below a barcode, 5 7448426 7642391510.

    Cheers,

    Tim

Question Radio only has numbers 1 - 6 how to enter code? (Holden 2003, Blaupunk 520)

    Hey guys,

I got same issue as original poster on this thread: Holden Astra 2003 with radio Blaupunkt 520 is locked after battery was replaced

Seen some codes posted on this thread but not sure how to enter them: how to enter numbers above 6? (radio only has buttons 1 - 6). Is there a different way of entering the code?
Anything I enter has zero effect on the display (just shows 'CODE') ...

    Help much appreciated,
    gvanto

You will need to pull the unit out and get the serial off the back or top. Its the one in this format...

    BP2391 5 7448426

With this, the correct code can be obtained.

The procedure for entering the code is this....

    Security Release Procedure
    Radio PIN Code:
    1. Switch on ignition.
    2. Switch on the radio, if turned off.
    3. The display shows 'CODE'.
    4. Press and hold AS button 8, until a
beep is heard and release the AS-button.
    The display shows '10 _ _ _ _', which
indicates that you have ten attempts left
at entering the correct PIN code.
    5. Enter the PIN code (see Security Card)
    with preset buttons 1, 2, 3 and 4.
    Example:
If the PIN code belonging to the radio is
    3650.
    Display:
    Press preset button 1 4 times 10 3 _ _ _
    Press preset button 2 7 times 10 3 6 _ _
    Press preset button 3 6 times 10 3 6 5 _
    Press preset button 4 1 time 10 3 6 5 0
    6. Press AS button 8 until a beep is heard
    and the radio starts operating.
If a wrong PIN code has been entered
the display will show '9 SAFE'. After the
    waiting time '9 _ _ _ _' will be shown on
the display indicating that there are nine
attempts left. The correct code should
    now be entered.

As a suggestion, can you write the number (once found) inside the Glove box for future reference?
I would not suggest this if the car/radio were new but 2003, your chances of it being pinched is reduced.
You never know when a problem may occur and the battery needs to be disconnected requiring the security numbers to be re-entered.

Hey thanks again for this (managed to enter a code, but neither 5639 nor 7402 - mentioned here - worked unfortunately)

With regards to quote below: What is the relationship between serial no and pin code? (last 4 digits? if that's the case surely someone stealing the radio wouldn't have much trouble entering the security code)

Just trying to figure whether worth going out to buy alan keys that will fit this radio if the serial number won't be any good ...

    Cheers

I posted on here many years ago a program that would give the pin code for Blaupunkt radios (stereos), (or did I PM it to someone??), but for the life of me, I can't remember which computer it was on (or backup drive), or even what it was called. All you did was enter the serial code of the stereo, and the pin was revealed.
    I'll keep looking.
