Watched him for years. A travelling cook who goes to every corner of the world and has a way with words that is amazing.

In my opinion, probably the best show host I've ever seen.

Watched the latest episodes of Parts Unknown only a few days ago. He will be sadly missed. Suicide by the looks of it.

    RIP

Thanks Al but I really had no idea who this fellow was when I saw the announcement on SKYUK News over night, the same applies to Kate Slade who I gather was a New York based Fashion designer.

PS Al, I'll reclaim my 'Title' by announcing her passing.

I'll use the excuse of not being up to date as I was told of the passing of fellow I went to School with and although we didnt associate for many years, He helped me a lot with learning to use a Computer in recent years and I enjoyed his company a lot.

I wonder if Suicide is a requisite to be one of the "Rich and Famous', if it is I will out last Methuselah.........

Yeah but you all missed Phil Emmanuel passing, age 65, one of Oz's greatest guitarists, I would have posted when I heard about it, but i don't like to be the bringer of gloom. Until now I guess,

    Cheers, Tiny

Truly Saddened and shocked to hear this.
Discovered the man years ago with his no reservation series on TV and although never one for Cooking shows, I was drawn into it with his personality.
Tony seemed to really be in his element when he was feasting on some Pile of slop thrown on a plate or a roll from some little hole in the wall place in a down and out suburb of god knows where. He was totally unpretentious and nothing seemed to matter but the food and the people behind it.
He instilled a sense of adventure with food in me when I was always very conservative and gaurded and that has lead to a lot of great feeds and what Anthony was about in sharing food and good times with people.
I liked him for his honesty. Every time you see someone shove something into their gob on TV they carry on like it's the best thing ever eaten. Anthony was not shy to say meh, it's ok but I'd rather eat from Freddy Chans Wheelbarrow on the outskirts of wherethefkarewe than this. Freddys is great! Like wise, if he eat at some upmarket $200 a plate joint, he paid respect for what it was while taking the piss and calling a spade a spade at the same time.

I have been watching a Lot of his shows on YT and I look and think, i don't really want to see what they eat in that weird place but you start to watch with the expectation of not being interested and he would suck you right in. He always left me with a sense of Calmness and appreciation watching his shows.

I genuinely feel completely bummed he has gone. There are a lot of other far more famous people I wouldn't think twice about but this guy is like someone I knew and was friends with that has been lost.

I'm saddened to hear of Phil Emmanuel's demise the world is much poorer for the loss of his music.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

A great chef and presenter, I enjoyed his shows.

Both Anthony and Kate Spade's deaths were suicide by hanging.... tragic.

I did read about Phil Emmanuel, very sudden and unexpected.

When I saw his pic in the story Tiny linked, I thought how much he looks like his brother, Tommy, who I've met on a few occasions.

A great loss to the Australian music scene.

    R.I.P.

Yes suicide, however i always found him a little strange and out of place on camera, something didnt seem to sit right with him (the way he acted)

Never the less, sorry to hear his passing.

    RIP.

Watching Re-Runs on TV can be a real downer when you realise many of the shows just havent finished and those involved have moved on to other things but are DEAD from many causes.
And even if there are any Cast members still alive, most have galloped past their 70's to be nudging their 90's like Dick Van Dyke, Angela Lansbury to name just a few.
