Default Puppets of Corporations Labor and Liberal?

Why are we introducing Australian Laws to stop election interference by
Foreign Governments, but not Laws to stop election interference by
Corporations who strongly influence election results home and abroad? "Gov's. are
    Puppets of Corporations.

Someone has to donate to political parties cause I won't. Anyone who does has influence.

    Including unions pheggie?

Maybe their should be no political donations allowed at all and all parties funded by our taxes and the corporations actually pay their taxes

I dont know how viable such an idea would be but it would be worth giving a try at least.
I dont think we go quite as far as the US does in their campaigning by telephone and Radio/TV adverts but if donations are cut off, I dont think too many would complain they havent been called to support a political party.
Anyway, Phone Polls are useless because as no records are kept so those called could support every Political party who calls them and vote contrary to their 'promise'.

Being registered for Life on the Electoral Roles (unlike in the USA) stops the need for being called to enroll for any elections.

Perhaps worth exploring. But the "independent body" that decides how much they get will have to be under tighter scrutiny than their salary and entitlement feedbag.

I've spent decades campaigning for 3dtv and look where that ended up a waste of time down the gurgler.

I've spent easily $20,000AUD supporting the 3d industry over the decades it didn't work i've even donated to the official restoration of a classic 3d movie and promoted their cause on forums and social media. Now you can't even buy a new 3dtv.

Like moist of us. we all voted Beta, because it was the better format. Didn't make much difference, even VHS didn't survive.......

That's easy. Publicly declare all political donations as tax revenue.

    It'll dry up real quick

Politicians are human (or a version thereof) and some will ALWAYS be able to be influenced as some of their decisions are vital....

It's just a bribe with a 'wink, wink, say no more' attached to it......

In my view taxpayer's funds going to these parties is an abomination. Let's ban all political donations and all political advertising. Why should taxpayers fund propaganda and scare campaigns. Is there anyone here that can point to a political ad that actually contained any useful information whatsoever?

The day politicians start campaigning or the real merits of why they are the best person for the job instead of just muck raking and trying to get ahead by putting shit on the other guy and trying to put them down instead of talking about what skills they can bring to the job, is the day I -may- take a little more interest in politics.
Other than that, I remain in the belief it's just a total con job the wealthy play on the average man in the street.

I’d prefer to see a taxpayer ONLY election budget (with a predetermined max limit). I corporations want to donate, then pay your taxes!

Most corporations and businesses DO PAY their taxes.....

I like this idea, but who decides how much? Another "independent tribunal"?
