They can have the beaches north of Broome....
Full of Crocs and Sand Flies....
If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

err must admit the rock has got steeper since my last visit, had to come down hanging on to the chain due to me wearing an old pair of aqua slip runners, by the time i started to come down my feet were rotating in my shoes with no support and grip. The guy in front of me was walking down unaided in a pair of new hiking boots and had all the grip of a set of Bendix brake pads
All the people on the walk were very encouraging to each other, what a shame, think the tourism numbers will drop off now that it will be closed, but must admit it is very steep and could be dangerous
p.s as everyone is wearing rubber soles the rock has become impregnated with various sole material and in the wet it is slippery
And from what i can garner, it was never an native historical site until the white man came along
Joke. How does a aboriginal find a sacred site, with a Geiger counter of course

i climbed it during winter and i got hot doing it what were people thinking climbing it on a hot day and so many don't people plan these things.

also when i got to the top i DID NOT just get a selfie standing next to the brass marker i roamed all over the top to see the view from as many places as possible and have video.
i don't see what the rush is for the climb will be allowed again one day.
the abo's get 25% of the park fees so this year they get extra bonus $$$$$$$$.
next year when the $$$$$$$ are gone and the VB and petrol funds run out i bet you will see a bunch of abo's pulling that chain up the rock so fast sparks will be coming off it.
take a screen shot and place your bets on the dates.
