Hi - so looking on satplus website tonight i saw in the banner that there is a new palm sized twin tuner UEC coming. Anyone heard anything about it? My current one is not very happy at all and I need a replacement.

I’ve sent a message already just wondering if anyone else knew anything. Hope it’s not long away.

New Satking box, twin tuner in about 4-5 weeks away and a cheaper single tuner in October. Optus said their engineers were too busy to evaluate/validate the new boxes.

ACMA website approvals for UEC4921 single tuner but no sign of satking. All very cloak & dagger stuff. Also interesting is NAS have no DSD4639 stock.
Maybe 'They' dont want to go Public yet as 'They' may not be ready to release a new STB and 'They' dont want their competitors to beat them to it and release a model they may have 'Under Wraps' and steal their Thunder.
That and a dozen other good reasons could explain why nothing is appearing in the approvals list.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
If you are thinking of a replacement for your old DSD4639, then you may be interested to know the OLD 4639's will be back in stock in about 5 weeks. What of the new decoders you ask??? well mum's the word (but the word is mid October). I am still interested to find out more on the "new" Satking twin tuner model. Anyone on the forum have any gossip? I still don't see any approval numbers on the ACMA website. There will be a new UEC single tuner decoder soon (what that means I'm not sure). In the mean time I may have an answer to some further DSD4639 problems.

From Satplus:
Available end of July, the all new Altech 4921 RV twin tuner VAST decoder. We're excited to be distributing the 4921RV decoder particularly for the RV industry as this unit ticks all of the boxes on our wishlist -
Twin tuner so you can record one channel while watching another (or record 2 channels at the same time)
12V and 240V operation so it can be powered from a standard 240V wall socket or via a cigarette socket in your van (cigarette lead included at this stage)
fast operation for quick boot up time and quick channel changing
compact size allowing it to fit into tight cupboards and shelves in a caravan
infra red sensor enabling the box to be stored away in a cupboard out of site with the sensor on the outside of the cupboard receiving the remote control signals
available as PVR ready (supply your own external HDD) or with built in 500GB hard drive
low voltage and current draw so you'll barely notice any effect on your battery.
Just found this. Is this the new staking box? Does this read that you need two seperate external HDD to record two channels at once?

Got my new satking dual tuner box today. Fingers crossed I have better success with it than the Altec.
