Default Recommendations for Mobile Phone Holders

In my car I use the Magnetic Logitech mobile phone holder. It is suction capped to the windscreen and uses a strong magnet to hold the phone - metal plates are either stuck to the back of the phone or placed between the phone and its case. It worked well with my old Samsung S4 with the only issue being the holder would fall off the windscreen from time to time and the magnets would pick up magnetic material and scratch the back of the phone.

Now I have upgraded to a Google Pixel 2 XL and it is a much heavier phone - the old Samsung is 165gm and the new Google is 245gm so a lot heavier. The Logitech holder can still hold the phone - just, but hit a bump and the magnets are not strong enough and the phone falls away.

So time for a new holder - one suitable for a heavy phone and provides access to the buttons on the right hand side, the finger print scanner on the back and the charging port at the bottom.

I have used "normal type" suction cap holders before but they have not been very good with difficulty accessing controls, falling off the windscreen and excessive vibration with long arms.

So I am looking for recommendations for mobile phone holder that might suit my needs.

    Thanks

    Garry

strike cradles make phone specific cradles and generic ones, with or without charging/external antenna provisions, the diy kits come with suction cup to windscreen mount, professional kits come with a mount plate with either double sided tape or screw holes to fit to a bracket etc

Thanks for that - do you know if they work with the external phone case still attached to the phone - I dont want to be removing it each time I have the phone in the car.

    Cheers

    Another option is

I purchased a dash mount for my particular car (they offer 3 different placed options), then screwed a plastic microphone holder on to it, so it securely holds my Uniden scanner.
Works a treat, is very neat, and leaves no scratches or holes in the dash.

I can post a photo if you wish to see how it looks fitted.

Thanks for that - looks like that they have great cradles but I use a protection cover on the phone - I will see if they have something can be used with the case on.

    Cheers

I got a free 8 inch Samsung tablet with my Herald Sun subscription and thought I would use it in the car for navigation etc. I bought the following mount, which I got 2 of and plugged them in to my cars air vents.

It worked very well, the tablet does not move at all while the car is going.
