Contact Sony. They should be able to RMA the unit.
Hi there,
I have recently shipped a Sony TV to Melbourne from Brisbane and it has turned up with some damage I was wondering if anyone has seen before... It kind of appears as if the panel has started to come away from the front glass, but I'm not 100% sure. Picture still works 100%, so its purely aesthetic when turned off. If the panel has come away from the glass, would anyone know if it can be fixed?
I have uploaded pictures to gallery to assist (), thumbnails below
Any feedback\suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance.

How in any way, shape or form is this SONY's problem? If you smashed your Toyota car would you call them for assistance, requesting a new vehicle?
Perhaps you missed the OP's comment: "I have recently shipped a Sony TV to Melbourne from Brisbane and it has turned up with some damage".
Which part of that statement leads you to believe this is a manufacturing defect caused by SONY?
In answer to the OP's query, yes it can be fixed but at great cost. Contact the carrier of the goods and claim the damage via their insurance.
You have lost the gate drive to the panel. That may be due to a dislodged FFC or complete failure of the interconnecting interface because of impact.
Either way this is a catastrophic failure and is not a cheap repair.
