just read another case where Mitsu were taken to court over a faulty Triton , and they lost , and had to replace the guys car and cough up for his court costs.

so maybe the tribunals are actually getting on the side of the consumer ? who knows. Anyway , Toyota have done the right thing by me so i can now reccommend them to others.

I also asked the Toyota rep what happens to the old cars which get replaced ? do they get resold to some other sucker or are they used for parts or are they crushed? no answer forthcoming on that one!!

I know about the MN Tritons , the 4D56 diesel is a piece of overheating junk , and always was , even back in the 80s. The 4N15 diesel in the new Tritons is much better , we have an MQ and its been awesome. I was thinking about a Pajero Sport once but that arse end looks like a constipated elephant thats been hit by an ugly stick. As for the 4M4x series of engines fitted to Pajeros i wouldnt piss on any of them.

It appears that Toyota have made good progress on fixing the DPF issue , they now clean the 5th injector using an ultrasonic cleaner at every 20k service. It seems that the DPF issues usually begin once this injector blocks up. Time will tell I'll see how it goes on the new one.
