Thanks pheggie always appreciate being kept up to speed with iptv. Every month something new pops up in streaming, getting a box that does everything is impossible, its more of a dogs breakfast every day...
I dunno, I reckon it has got easier, though that of course depends on what you want to watch.
A Mi box 3 covers nearly everything. Split subs, Foxtel, Stan etc all allow 3 logins at any one time (find a couple of friends willing to pay a share) and Kodi has most new movies and TV series with the correct repositories. Even FTA TV.......I have now moved my TV to the far side of the room away from the antenna point as I don't need it anymore as free to air is streamed live.
I guess I'm not tinkering around as much as I used to...once you find a reliable dns/vpn service the world is pretty much your oyster. I find bbc, channel 4 and 5, cover nearly everything that foxtel show outside sport. I liked kodi once upon a time but got sucked down rabbit holes all the time at one stage and gave up.
My son has a telstra mobile and I just switched to optus mobile for optus sport. All these extra "free" services that the telcos provide give more options to watch a variety of stuff without having to hunt anymore. Still have foxtel sports and ent, and the kids pay for netflix, so we are well covered. But if it was up to me I'd just be paying for the dns.
So the foxtel go app is now hd. On my windows tv box a message comes up saying the app for pc is going to be discontinued, and to watch through chrome. On chrome the picture is fantastic, watching it on a 47". The old app was basically unwatchable on that size tv.
It does drop the odd frame on sport for me, I'm watching a rugby league replay to test it out. I changed the setting on the app to low quality and went back to the game, now it flows perfectly and the picture quality is only slightly reduced so I'll leave it there for sport.
