Spring reverb tank in a Roland JC 120.
    Reverb not working with guitar.
The tank is 3 springs Z shape. input coil is 2ohms, output coil 220ohms (measured out of circuit).
    Does that sound right ?

With the tank outside the box I can tap on the springs with a stick and hear a "springy" sound through the speakers but it's pretty faint.
If I bang on the amp cabinet it should sound like an aeroplane has crashed through the roof, but banging makes no sound at all. (Just sounds like someone banging on the cabinet)

    Got it !
You were close. Wire internal break between the output coil and its socket.

Yep happy all right. This amp sounds absolutely amazing esp now the reverb is working.
I was getting some really strange readings off that coil that I just couldn't figure, so I cut that one wire in half and the reading stabilized.
Just soldered it directly to the terminal then. Now all good.
    Cheers

the resistance of the coils is not that important as its the ac going thru them that causes the reverb have fun don
