Question Toaster Oven - anyone own one?

    Hi all,

Deliberating whether to get a toaster oven.

It's supposed to be cheaper to run than an Air Fryer and/or a conventional oven.

I have also read that good toasters have more flexibility in styles of cooking, toasting, roasting, heating, and stewing etc.

Anyone here have first hand knowledge?

    TIA

    Luv and kisses to all.

I have one without the external elements on top.
Ours has one set on the top inside and one on the bottom individually controlled along with the rotisserie, timer and temperature setting.
Recently I cooked a roll of Pork and Beef on the rotisserie (not at the same time) and both came out fantastic.
While the meat was rotating, I used the baking dish to put the vege's in so the 'drippings off the meat went into them.
Obviously I had the tray empty under the meat to begin with so the fat from the meat didnt drip on the oven floor until I then put the vegies in.
it worked BUT the first time I was too quick and vegies come out overdone, 2nd time was better but it takes practice.
I too looked at the current hot air frier on TV but went onto Youtube to see a demo and I would suggest you do the same.
I did the same with that 'all the Rage 5 minute cooker' (watch demo on Youtube) currently being flogged off and it was INTERESTING to say the least!!!
I will say I am happy with the Toaster oven in general and wish it had a basket I could put chips etc in like the Air Frier.
We also have one of them earlier all glass hot air friers but it too has its limitations.

    @Gordon,

Could you tell me the make and model.

Dimensions and weight if possible, I have a very limited bench top.

    Thanks

Brand name is AMBIANO, sold by Aldi.
27 litre Toaster Oven, size of an average Microwave.
Cost was $59.99 in Sept 2016.
    Specifications are,
    Model Number GT25R-S1.
    Voltage- 220~240V 50 Hz.
    Power: 1600 watts.
Weight: 6.33 kg, its more awkward to lift/move than heavy.
    Dimensions in cm: 49 (wide) X 36 deep X 30 high.
This model as I said does NOT have the two hotplates on the top which as far as I can tell is that the unit is the same size with or without.

I am sure you will find similar for sale at target, Good Guys, Bing Lee, Harvey Norman etc.

Do a 'Google' for 'Toaster Ovens'......
