    Default another kogan

i wont drag this out but as a lot of you are tech savvy

looking at this picture of a new kogan 43" 4k job
could you determine if this damage was caused by " blunt impact " on the screen or could happen lots of ways

please realize the black part of the screen is the plant in the picture, not part of the damage

Certainly impact damage, from the star shaped cracks in the top left of the red square. I suppose it's how you define blunt? if it's for an insurance claim, I'd just call it "impact damage"

i have been engaged to assess for insurance co.s looking at the damage my first impression as the damage doesnt radiate from a single point there is no impact damage the curves suggest that it is a manufacturing fault the lines are part of that as well as its supposed to be a new device it is not "fit for purpose "therefore you have a claim under the accc rules

    thats a good answer
    the truth is
i used it 1st nite but the feet wernt installed as my tv cab is too small
next morning, my carer, lied it down on the tv cab, screen down to put feet on
stood it up, turned it on, bang its stuffed.
ive hit good ol kogan up, there claiming user impact damage, or prove the box is damaged in transport (its not)
after a nastly "product review" i was contacted again & theyre atleast picking it up now
    we'll see what furthers

    read the friggin emails phill

    Thanks for the response.
Based on the photos you have provided it does appear that your unit has been damaged during transit.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience and we will ensure that this is resolved as soon as possible.
So that I may process your claim promptly, can you please provide

    im safe lol

legally they provide the feet therefore it is reasonable to assume by law that you have to lay it down to attach the provided feet which you claim has happened . another point is for it to be impact there has to be a impact point legally big small or whatever but it must be there ? I dont see one ?

I bought a CD or DVD one time and it showed it had been 'impacted' (the jewel case was cracked) in transit but I went all over the container it came in and there was no sign of any damage to match the damage to the case.
The Disc itself was undamaged and played OK so I didnt bother making a complaint.

The last TV I assembled we put a blanket or towel on a table and laid the TV face down on it to assemble the support.

we were silly, too much haste
we could have lied it on its back, would have been smarter
think tv cab is like 400x400mm & its a 43" screen, wasnt a good idea
i did tell him to do it on the bed.
still, could be pretty weak screens too,
anyway, there wearing it so its all good

click on the pic, then click on the pic again in Postimage to enlarge, and you will see the star shaped impact point, in the upper left of the red square.

    just been picked up
their cs is so shit though
now someone admits it may be faulty, thats ok
i emailed back & asked, if you replace it, can i have the 40" i dont really need 43" (its too big)
girl replied, we only replace, i swear on accc site it states " if major fault customer is entitled to repair, replace or refund " of their choice

I dont know what the others think but I would strongly recommend NOT laying a Flat screen of ANY size on a bed or similar because it carnt offer a uniform support to the unit as a table with a blanket can.

Did you see how far to the right that two of the radiating cracks extend? The top one to outside of the red square, inches from the RH edge of the screen, and the bottom one to just above the Kogan emblem.

    See? Practice makes Perfect.........

Now lets hope there is something worth watching on the new TV.....

How about an update in a week or three on what you think of the set in general?
