    Default Hema Explorer for Android?

Just wondering if anyone here uses Hema Explorer for Android?

I see it is $49 to purchase, but then says there are in-app purchases??
Can anyone enlighten me on this?
Will i be up for $200+ if i want to download a few detailed maps, aka Vic High Country etc?

    Have you found it accurate?
I read a few of people saying the tracks need updating or some tracks are just missing all together, or a track goes onto private land which is gated and this is not explained on the map.

Saw a friend using it on phone for the Simpson Desert crossing, looked detailed enough and easy to read
But i only glanced at it for a few seconds.

Been buying a few Rooftop Paper Maps, but it also starting to add up.
So i'd be interested to hear for any member using Hema Explorer.

    Thanks

I think i found the answer to one of my questions

Price range: $8 – $649 (yes, you did read that correctly!)
Maybe the above is out dated???

Seems its a Monthly or Yearly subscription on top of the initial purchase now

Hema Explorer is *HORRID*. Cannot give it one complement.
What are you wanting to use topographic maps for?
    OziExplorer rules with topographic maps:

Available for Windows, WinCE and Android. I have it on my Windows10 laptop, my Lenovo Tab 4 8 permanently mounted in my 4WD camper, on my Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus and my Nokia HMD 6.1.
OziExplorer is very comprehensive. To get full use out of OziExplorer for Android I think it would be fare to say you need the Windows10 version as well. However in saying that, maps are now available from many sources in the *.OZF format to enable large files to be loaded to the screens of these low powered devices quickly. I do use OziExplorer extensively and have probably twenty years of saved GPS track files.

    Thanks lineland
Yeah, ive been doing a lot of reading and watcing YouTubes on OziExplorer

Seems fantastic what you can do
Especially using Google Earth while at home, to mark places you wish to visit, then creating a track in and out, naming it and saving it.
Then uploading that file to Ozi and using it when out in the field away from cell comms

Plus being able to use custom maps

May be a bit advanced for me
So i figured Hema have done the heavy lifting and i can just go wheeling with out too much of a care

The Hema Maps are OK. I do use the Hema Maps and have the latest versions. They are some of the more up-to-date maps.
