    Default Dreambox Lnb Settings?

Hi just bought a twin output universal lnb the lo is 9750-10700, my question is I can't lock vertical channels on C1, I entered the above settings into lof/l & lof/h respectively on the dm500, so if these settings are correct? is my new lnb not capable of getting these channels (and a piece of crap)??

    G'Day Cobber,
Twin output ?? Do you mean it has two leads coming down ?? If so, that is different to dual polarity universal which only has a single Co-Ax.
You will find that because of the wider bandwidth of the universal LNBs that the locked level is lower. However may I suggest that is more than likely that your Skew is incorrect. If in the Eastern States, you need the Co-Ax to come down at about 7-8 O'Clock and Western States about 2-3 O'Clock. Adjust this either with a Sat meter or the Quality Bar on your box.
Kindest Regards, " The Druid ".

it has 2 leads yes, I had a twin 10700 but replaced it as it doesnt like my other box (triple dragon) and just set the skew the same (by eye) , so hopefully it is the skew settings. Thanks for the detailed answer much appreciated.

    Hi again,
If that's the case, one lead is for Horizontal and the other for Vertical. You need switching and feed two receivers with independent H & V and independent channels.
I think you do not understand the difference.
Don't despair there are ways out of this if you are unable to exchange for the correct type for your setup.
Kindest Regards, " The Druid ".

once again I think you are correct this is the lnb here ...Is there a way to feed two boxes with this? If no I had my eye on this beauty as my other box only has preset lnb settings and 11300 is one of them. cheers

If you connect your box to the other output on the LNB do you only get verticle channels? If so you could then use this lnb with a multiswitch and then connect your receivers to the outputs.

i can't get vertical on either box, but they are both attached. My lnb is lof/l 9750 lof/h 10700 i think this is called wideband in some places. I think 'The Druid" nailed it in post#4, but is there a way to split this to two boxes and get hor & vert channels on both independently?

Perhaps You didn't read the description, He has " a Twin Universal Dual Output LNB", I'm afraid that is more than a " Universal LNB ".
Effectively it is two separate universal LNBs and used for independent multi STBs with appropriate switching.
    Thanks for the input anyway.
Kindest Regards, " The Druid ".

the freq. is the point that he was posting about. He doesn't state if it's a single or dual output.

Red face My modem shit itself.

    G'Day Cobbers,
    Sorry LeroyPatrol and 3xdragon,
After much angst, I found that my modem decided to quit on me. Tried everything for hours to get it working, except piss on it to cool it down. Eventually bought a new one and all seems too be OK now.
Yeah, he seems to have misunderstood how that LNB works.
I also note in the description that frequency coverage is quoted as the IF.
Anyway Leroy, feel free to tell him how to connect the switching like your setup.

Kindest Regards, " The Druid "......

If one of the outputs isn't giving a verticle signal then a multi switch isn't going to get him out of trouble.

I got up on the roof and checked things out. As i had vert channels already tuned from previous install (no picture) I noticed BER level was high, adjusted skew a little and up came my vertical picture. Your suggestions led me to this solution so thanks to 'The Druid' and Leroy (who has helped me before) and knowabit.

    Very Good,
Now Leroy will be able to tell you all about multi-switches and DiSEqC switches so you can use that LNB.

ah the good ol' lnb skew. Well that's good then. If you only have 2 boxes then you don't need the multiswitch but if you are going to have more than 2 then you'll need to get something like a spaun 4 or 8 out multi switch and there are 2 inputs for the V and H signals (each output of the LNB). They are simple to setup.
