Have you ever wondered how common law works?
Well here's a really good example.
Actually, it's a pretty messed up example because it's facebook's policy.
Basically Facebook would like to enshrine the 1st Amendment which means free speech for everybody.
Unfortunately there are just some things you should not post. So Facebook has a policy on what posts it considers violations and will delete.
That sounds fair. You don't want rockspiders sharing their evil shit on your platform.
The censorship document is a living document. It is constantly reviewed, updated and corrected.
This podcast is about Facebook's policy and gives a little bit of insight into what goes on behind the big F.
The podcast is educational, but it will take you down weird shit road a couple of times and you surely say to yourself, "WTF, No?" and laugh a few times as your brain has to make a few new synaptic connections to iron out the creases in your new perspective of reality.

Wife used to get quite indignant when asked to take one of our children out to another room (often the Ladies toilet) to breastfeed. Her reaction was "would you like to eat your meal in the toilet?" This situation does highlight the difficulties of these issues, though. In other societies, the naked breast is normal, even total nudity. We have made a rod for our own backs by decrying all nudity as pornography, when, in some cases, it clearly isn't. Now, if you sent a roll of film to be processed and you happened to have a couple of photographs of you kids playing naked under a sprinkler. The thought police are most likely going to arrest you for child pornography. Heck, just about every kid in Darwin would have run around without clothes on at some stage or other. Where, and how, to draw that line is very difficult, a legal minefield, in fact.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
WTF, No?
You expect me to sit there and listen for 1:10h ?
Maybe I will play the download on Sunday night while watching Singapore F1. I hate the SkySports commentary.
In the mean time, at the risk of missing your point, my view of Common Law is for a leadership to find ways of criminalising everything we do(or express) these days by overregulation.
Welcome to 1984 ...wait we are already way past that.

As far as I am concerned, the US Constitution with all its amendments has no credibility particularly in the 'Land of the Free and The Brave'.
Go stand in any PUBLIC Place and talk about Communism, for or against and see how long you last.
Abortion, so called 'Gay Rights' censorship of books like Noddy and Big Ears and accusing one of the 'Teletubbies' as being a 'Gay Icon' because the character wore a purple one piece suit??
The massive witchhunt back in the 50's when Senator Joe McCathy and supporters launched a vendetta against Communism and falsely accused hundreds of people of being 'Fellow Travelers'.
'Freedom of Speech' means you can say what you like so long as I agree with it !!!!
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
Nomeat? Don't you listen to drawn out podcasts at x1.5 or x2.0 speed?
Turn that 1 hour podcast into 30 minutes.
I spend a lot of time driving, so I find it easy to churn through several podcasts in one session.

Doesn't work with that one. There are too many different USA chewing gum voices talking at different speeds already. One of the dudes gets chopped up already at 1.3x.
I will wait till tommorrow but if I am not entertained in the first 10 mins....

The facebook rules are really strange and interesting enf.
Thy are actually trying to promote free speech in all it's forms.
The classic example is pornography. Is it free speech and who gets to decide and how do they decide?
Start down that simple route and it quickly gets tested and tried. The results and reactions are hiliarious.
While I might not think facebook is always doing the right thing or doing good,in this case, they appear to be trying and discovering, it's actually quite hard.
