    Default imap & ost stuff

maybe im missing something but most ppl use imap now right ?

but i found if you make folders in outlook (office) & its a imap ost file
if you back it up, you cant restore it

i had to convert a ost file to pst (which was limited due to paid software) just to restore folders

but if i set it up as pop3 (pst file) another problem is the servers get full of emails if you tick, leave on server
but if you dont, the pop3 emails will pull down to whatever device opens them 1st.

so how do you guys have domain based emails setup so as the sync between pc & or phone, tablets.

    Default

    IMAP for what you need.

If you intend on having the folders accessible on all devices, then they will need to be created and based on the server side, not locally. Any local folder with mail may be moved to the bin on the server (or another folder, such as archive) and may not be easily accessible on other devices.

    Default

    i worked it out

you can setup imap in outlook & then open the pst file to get at the folders

pretty sad really, anyone with imap & local folders cant restore them from backup
unless you convert ost to pst first which is not free.
