    Default Hybrid Android TV boxes

Anyone using or found a new Hybrid Tuner Android box?

I'm still happy with the U4 Quad and U5 PVR.
But there has been a lot of elapsed time since they came out.

Any new improved boxes out there people have found?

    Looks like a no ?

I have pulled up stumps on my U4 Quad and replaced it with a mibox. With the FTA channels coming via internet and Kodi covering basically everything else, the Mibox is just so much smoother and nicer to use. Plus you can share subs on so many things if you wants....get Stan, Foxtel Go, Netflix etc and split it between friends on the amount of logins allowed.

Bluetooth remote on the Mibox makes the U4's infrared remote feel like its from the 1960's. With no updates for the U4, it makes it very hard to get some things to run at all.

Updates really are the key to anything you buy these days, if the box doesn't have support it heads towards being useless after just a couple of years.

Yes, if you want to run Kodi, you are correct
I find the U4 stills does what i ask of it, it provides non MPEG4 TV's with MPEG4 decoder
It also runs the Streaming App's i use (i don't use Kodi)

But i did try and load Kodi for some reason a while ago and found the old version of Android on the U4 wasn't compatible with Kodi

You're right admin, seems the Hybrid Android Box sector couldn't lift off.
Just easier to install faster cpu's in traditional E2 boxes

Although, the Android box is still my go to for YouTube, etc on the big screen

I am using EBMC on Android 4.4 quite happily on the M8S.

Have a look at the vodafone tv box, price has come down substantially since it's launch in april, I have read mostly good reviews on this box, was $120.00, now it's $72.00 from vodafone au, 2 year warranty, free delivery.

Just ordered one of these the other day, but I don't think it will arrive before Xmass

I still use the U4 & U5 and they do what I want. Haven't used kodi for a while as I found it to be unreliable.
Be interesting to see how it goes and as my sat side is down at the moment I wont be able to test that until I get time to fix the dish

Does Foxtel come up HD? How much are they? Sound like something good to play with..
