Default Homeland: Have you been paying attention?

Background. I watched seasons 1 and 2. Looked at the synopsis for season 3 and thought, "Just prolonging it for the sake of prolonging it"

    Questions.

    1. During the opening credits Carrie says (something like), "I made a mistake. I ....I will not let it happen again."

Saul responds, "That was 10 years ago. We all made mistakes that day."

    What mistake(s)?

    2. When Brody is released from his captivity he is shown as bedragled, long haired, with a long beard and unwashed.

However later he is shown, when teaching American to Issa, as clean shaven, hair cut, washed and neatly dressed.

    Umm?
If Australia is a democracy why, then, is voting compulsory?

"What has changed between the arrival of the First Fleet and today?"
"Wearing leg irons is now not required."

that show bothers me. Season 1 was OK, 2 was barely worth watching.

I remember the scene for your first question...
