    Default best programer

    Hi all,
I need some guidance as to the best programer to buy for a newbie.
I am after the most comprehensive programer with ease of use. My purchases
thus far have been an x810,Season 2 PC Interface Logger.
Also what are the best cards to start with?
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
    regards Tink

I reckon the Jaycar as it's a pic programmer as well so you could make a goldie. That would be a good card to start with also. Keep in mind the Jaycar is in kit form so you'll need to have soldering skills.
If you do a search you wil find info on creating a goldie.

I like the Mastra IV and V.

they will do the pic at 3.5 and 6mhz. V has usb interface, but you will need to find a good driver for that.

They had a copy mode of unprotected cards.

The Cas 3 is a good alround programmer. It can be used to update cams as well.

Bottom line, it will depend on what you want to do with it and how much you want to spend.

As stated above the Jaycar Kit is a good start as well.

I've tried an Infinity USB Unlimited. Compact device and works well with everything so far. The RGB LCD is very helpful. I've encountered no problems with the VCP (virtual com port). Available on Ebay for about $110 delivered.

Those interested in the Jaycar kit might like to know you can buy them significantly cheaper from . Type KC5361 into their search box and you'll find it.

About $44 including delivery. Saves petrol going to your local Jaycar store.
