Labor MP Ed Husic said that "bloated, greedy, resistant-to-change rights holders" are using copyright reform "to shield themselves from the modern era" while warning that a ban on VPNs could be next.
He could be right. Problem is most of our pollies have little idea as to the ramifications of such legislation. Whilst I decry piracy, the "rights holders" are doing themselves NO FAVOURS by restricting access to content based on region or other means.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

"The reality is that piracy is a reflection of a market failure,” he said.

The ban on VPN idea will last about as long it it takes to explain what VPNs are used for.

They could list the appropiate VPN's to include in a ban or even make you buy or apply for a government license to use a VPN

They won't want to stop everyone using VPN's but could just make it hard for the average joe to get on board. Amazon dumping Aussie overseas shopping proves
doing Australian business doesn't mean a red razoo to the rest of the world. Australia is worthless to them. Just criminal overseas scammers want to do business with
    Australia no one else.
