Plenty of households in my area set up contactless lollie bags givaways at the front of their houses. Kids come and help themselves. No masks are needed for kids younger than 12 - that's another silly rule they can't police.

    Not a soul here.
The halloween stuff they sell in our local dollar shop or whatever you call those Chinese/Indian stores is actually quite impressive and very suitable for props to make movies of all kinds not just blood and gore scenes.
The detail is impressive and I find it almost a shame that they have to mothball or dump it.

    Not a thing this year....excellent!
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

I'm saying the seasons don't align relative to the crux of the celebrations ; here, this should be happening Apr/May ~ it's a common shortfall for all religions ; everything's relative to the northern hemisphere & climes... the folly of men =)

Jesus was born and all the Christian religions and most other religions were created by people in the Northern hemisphere.
We are just savages in the south.

You also can't expect people to change their birthday or the time of historic events for us savages either. Jesus was allegedly born some time in Winter (the majority agree on December) and crucified sometime in March. A lot seems to be related to that.

But that's only if you follow the believers of it being a Pagan/Celtic originated celebration. Most Christian churches celebrate All Saints Day (All Hallows Day) on the 1st of November, and All Hallows Even, is logically the night before.

I thought all this was related to planting, harvesting times etc all before Jesus was born, harvesting, planting time etc never changed ?

Was Looking for some Christmas backgrounds recently. Like anything else Christmas related. Trying to find anything that doesn't have a depiction of snow is not easy. Shits me to tears actually.

How many places in Oz have ever got Snow at Christmas? Not enough to pretend snow should be expected or is in anyway traditional.
Don't expect anyone to change their Holiday dates, just don't pretend everyone experiences the same weather.

That is correct for Samhain, which is basically the end of summer. For all you pagans.

But Halloween is a contraction of All Hallows' Eve, which is the evening before All Hallows Day (All Saints Day), a Christian celebration in remembrance of the dead, martyrs and saints or holy persons.

But these days, it's basically just another commercial exercise similar, to what Christmas and Easter have become to most people.
