    I feel for you Virgo
I was about to post after you the list of my old boxes
But wanted to keep your thread clean in case you had some takers

    Like you, i have:

    1 x DM7000s
    3 x DM7020
    1 x DM500
    1 x Itagte TGS 100
    1 x Humax 5400
    Plus 4 propriety boxes

The DM7000 and 7020 can make for great Music Players

To think the money we spent on these when new

Have to be good for someone you'd think

    Guys,

You should list them in the BST forum.

It's sad to see these things go to scrap.

Who knows, maybe DJmatt may need some more plasma coffee table legs.

For more-recent members... here's an explanation:

When I first looked to by a Humax I think they retailed around the 1K to 1.5 $$$'s mark then they dropped eventually down to $500 each.
They were not the most expensive ones on the market back then but dear enough.

I too cried tears of blood the day I consigned them to Garbage bin, not because they didnt work but there was nothing available I was interested in.

That along with a couple of Aurora STB's I picked up when helping neighbours convert to VAST.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

These are MPEG2, so anything that is MPEG2 will work well with these, that are LINUX based, so very versatile,

you can use them still but most TV's have HDMI inputs these days. Can be used for logging if into that stuff.

It is a shame. They are beautiful creations of technology. Yes, you can still find uses for them if you try. They are, after all, specialised computers at heart. But realistically they have had their day. I still have some of mine out of sheer nostalgia, but do intend to get rid of them soon.

Foxtel hastened their end with its successful strengthening of NDS and its refusal to allow superior third party boxes on its Network. But in my veiw this only hastened the end.

Quite a few MPEG-2's: On D2 the holy rollers, Arabic on Asiasat 5 and most Chinese on Chinasat 6B. In good working order with the remotes, I would think they would be a few takers if you list them on Gumtree, priced to cover postage and handling.
