Optus B3 to D2 - Manual Move
Hello,
Further to the movement of freq's from b3 to D2.
My oldies have a fixed 90cm disk mounted to B3.
As D2 is on 152E and B3 was on 158.
Could I manually change it by unfastening the disk and moving it to the right ever so slightly or is angle also a problem?
Any suggestions if it is easy enough to do would be appreciated.
Thanks
Chilly

here is the new frequencies just change the old ones to this. Enter the new frequency details
12518 V 22500 3/4
12643 V 22500 3/4
12707 V 22500 3/4
12733 V 22500 3/4
Hello ,
Just checking on lyngsat , transponder 15L 12644 H is allocated to UBI . Can you confirm that 12644 V is allocated to Globecast , seems too close . I am assuming that 12525V went to 12518V , but where did 12658V go ?
\RD
Globecast Australia on 12644, V, 22500, 3/4.
UBI 12644, H, 22500, 3/4.
It's not too close at all.
Separation is achieved by horizontal vs. vertical polarity.
That's why it's so important to ensure that LNB cross-polarisation adjustment is correct.
The channels which were on Optus B3, 12658 and 12525 have gone to Optus D2, 12644V. and 12733V respectively.
You guys are all legends!
The reply I got was exactly what I wanted.
I assume B3 is about to fall out the sky and D2 is the replacement?
Why has lyngsat got them listed as different locations?
Are we saying that they are that close they do not need re-alignment?
Offtopic....
I have to say - I have been around Austech for about 5 years now...
Lurking - taking in the info....
I have learnt a bit also, not enough to contribute too much and I choose not to post for flaming or comments like ;-)
But Austech rocks!
Thanks for information and response, I will check it out and let you know how I go but I am sure many lurkers feel like me.
Where would we all be if not here together...

Cheers

b3 is listed at a different location as it is moving every day away from where it used to reside (where d2 is now) , it is currently actually very close to c1's position.
if you have lost channels what you need to do is a rescan, make sure your decoder is set to do a 'NIT' scan
12407 sr 30000 v 3/4 globalcast
12644 sr 22500 v 3/4 ubi
Mudcrab Wrote:-An NIT or network search on either FTA or CAS on this gave me only the single frequency services; Optus only which carries Sky, this is not Globecast per se. I recall is did load an FTA radio station.if you have lost channels what you need to do is a rescan, make sure your decoder is set to do a 'NIT' scan
12407 sr 30000 v 3/4 globalcast
12644 sr 22500 H 3/4 ubi[/QUOTE]
UBI is H pol (modded quote), for UBI's FTA services, search from here. If one searches UBI's FTA content AND Globecast from the TP below, you will get a repeat of the Greek channel ERT, delete one of them!
Need to add for actual GLOBECAST services, this primary TP for them;
12706, V sr 22500 3/4
Do an NIT search from this one, (or Network Search) on say FTA only. It will load Optus D2's FTA services - Russia Today, Press TV, SMTV, Thai etc and so on.
I found its easier sometimes to delete the old Optus B3 from a decoders sat list and restart afresh by creating a new 'Optus D2', then adding the three TP's above.

yes I conceed you are 100% correct, buggered where 12407 came from, cause just now when I looked at mine for globecast it is definately 12706
also noticed the 12733 V transponder ie Russia Today etc seems to need a slight LNB rotation adjustment
Is it just my fairly crudely aligned 80cm dish or are the transponders that Press TV and Russia TV sit on much weaker than, say, the UBI channels on D2?
On my UEC decoder I get a solid 80% "fine tuning" signal strength on the UBI line up channel and about 60-70% on the religious chanels but can barely scratch 40% on Press TV and Russia today. I'm in Perth.
