    I missed this review o-i-c...
I bought 2 of them last week
    Arrived yesterday
    What a professionally packaged product.

Had watched a few reviews and read about many happy users.

    $72 for a Hybrid Android - DVB T2 box
    Running official ATV
With free Delivery and an AU Warranty.
    How can you go wrong?
And nice to have an AU power adapter for a change

After a small amount of time with this box
It is so closed up and protected compared the U4 or U5 Hybrid boxes

You seem stuck with a protected version of YouTube and Netflix
(I'd like to know how to delete the YouTube that comes with the box and install my own version)

You also are stuck with a watered down version of Playstore as it is an Official Android TV OS
(But you can sideload or direct download)

Very early days with this box for me
I bought 2 for the reasons they had a DVB-T2 tuner and its a newer version of Android
The fact it comes with official ATV is just something new for me, i'm sure i'll work around it.

For $72 it is easy to use, fast, small, Youtube takes a while to load?? No idea why
Great Remote Control, Voice Commands are very handy

    Would i buy another.....???

Yes and No, but more Yes.

Yes for price, speed, ease of use, compact, great for a caravan of second room (or a main unit)
No only because i'd like to try something else.... I am too used to the "Proper" Hybrid experience the U4 and U5 brings
(They are just DVB-T2 boxes that default as a Set Top Box with Android in the background, as an Android TV would be)

The Remote doesn't have some buttons i often use on my U5 Hybrid
There is no "Mouse" or "Cursor" button, which helps with some Apps that don't scroll well
There is no >> or >>l button for searching through content or menus in some Apps

There are many ways to get things done, i just use the APKTIME App, kind of the same as Aptoide TV
To be honest, i used Aptoide on a tablet once and it introduced pop ups and problems so i have never used it again

    Changing the Home Screen

    I managed to find this,

    Go to Settings
Under the Device heading, select Apps
Under the System apps heading, scroll to and select TchCustomizer
    Select Notifications, then select Off

"Vodafone Recommends" disappeared and You Tube and Netflix moved to the App Section.

    A better YouTube

Suggestion: install the File manager X-Plore from the Playstore, then....
SmartYouTubeTV_v6.12.82 App = No Youtube Adverts.
You can also play around in Options and pick the quality of streamed video and video compression codecs used.

Save to a USB stick, install using the X-Plore App.

    Home Screen

I have no idea how to get the 2 rows of apps showing like my U5 Hybrid
You can have a "Vodafone Recommends" and "Apps", but the Apps is only 1 row
You can remove the "Vodafone Recommends" then you lose your Netflix and YouTube App short cuts and you still only get 1 row

I'm sure you can much around or just use a totally different launcher

    Bluetooth Remote
Is fantastic with its range but lack of buttons hurts some Apps

Playing a YouTube in 1080p i've had it stop a couple of times and lose audio sync for a small moment
This shouldn't have anything to do with internet connection and speed, as the Video was 20min in and there should be heaps of buffer in front.
This is with the horrible version on YouTube the box comes with

Definitely chalk and cheese, much prefer the netflix UI on this. I haven't hooked up the antennae yet and surprised that there is no pass thru which means using a splitter.

Finally got to using the DVB-T tuner via the Live Channels App.

    What a disgrace!

The unit can't decode MPEG4 without losing heaps of frames...
Then it loses Audio on all channels.
Then after reopening the Channels App audio came back.

I can see why these units are marked down.

Zapping Channel to Channel is slow, almost like loading a new streaming channel everytime.

Some channels you can't use the remote for volume (like it's Digital pass through) then the next channel you can use the remote for volume???

Still can't beat the U4 and U5 for DVB-T and Sat use!

that's disappointing. I was thinking having the DVB-T was a great idea! Hard to find one box that does everything you want well.

Yup, like others selling Hybrid boxes on here.
I just don't trust them if the DVB-T has to go through an App.

It has to be native and default
