Check what state they are in first - make sure they seal/unseal and then tamper one. It will stay unsealed.
Or have somebody trigger them while you watch the results on the RAS
Hi.
This I my first post in the forum.
I need to test few PIRs connected to Tecom Challenger DGP. and they are sending false alarm signals
My problem is the PIRs are not labelled which means I don't know which PIR is 50 an which one is 51.
Any suggestions about how to find out which PIR is 50 and which PIR is 51 and how to test them.

and what should show the status of the PIR if there is a cut in the cable ? I mean no resister in the circuit? it will still show unsealed or open?
A few ways. The best way would probably be with an f-set. If you have a rough idea where they are, pop the cover off them one by one. Should generate a tamper fault if they're set to use tamper monitoring. Otherwise if the LED's are on, drop power to one of them and walk past and see which one doesn't light up. If you twist the input cables together at the device end, you can confirm which device it is because it will have a short.
You can use user, User menu 1 (status) and have the inputs activated one at a time and the number will come up in status as a letter I - Isolated, U - Unsealed, T - Tamper , A - Alarm, Followed by the zone number.
You can also use, User menu 12 (input Test) type the input number and activate the input. It will cause the sounder on the Ras to buzz and show the state of the input.

I will try all those ways. I have v8 at home just for training before going to any job.
