Default Bosch Solution 6000 Battery Low?

    Hi all,

After our power recently went out, I got the typical power down trouble report on a Bosch Solution 6000. Though thereafter I am not able to clear a ‘battery low’ and ‘battery missing’ message. The battery is 4 years old.

I have tested the voltage of the battery, which reads at ~13.4v. Out of interest I also measured the voltage coming out of the panel terminals, I got ~0.8v (I assume it trickle charges??)

I have also done a battery test from the panel by entering my pin + menu + 7,9,1. I get no results from this test, as in it reads; battery test in progress and then after a minute goes back to the menu. It should be noted, I have have only seen a result a couple of times when performing this test, even when the alarm was newly installed and operating properly.

Finally, when I reconnect the battery I see the charge light glow for a few seconds to bring it back to an acceptable level.

So, before I buy a new battery, has anyone any further suggestions to what I should be checking?

Turn the power off and run it off the battery for a few minutes. If it dies quickly, there's probably a dead cell. If not, replace it next year. Don't let it stay there for more than about 5 years.

If the battery does drain down, will this reset all setting?

Not unless the panel is faulty.

Programming will be maintained in memory.
The time and date would need to be set again.

I think you should get more than 0.8 volt coming out from the panel.
