Default drug hailed as 'incredible breakthrough' in cancer fight

A DRUG that is already available on the NHS in Scotland for bladder and lung cancer has had "dramatic benefits" for some patients with head and neck cancer in the first clinical trial of its kind.

Interestingly i went to a mates living wake this time last year, he looked totally gone. Gets an invite to trial a new cancer drug, said that there was no point giving him a placebo. Saw him for coffee a month ago and you would not know it was the same guy. Looked fit and healthy. Don't know the name of the drug, but so much for the good old days, glad i am living now

Hopefully it is positive and gets adopted here.

God knows, so many in AU and rest of the world have wasted $1000's and been given false hope by so called trial drugs
If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

    Maybe in 10 years.

Reports of the wonder drugs and cures for cancer pop up quite regulary and then? ....nothing.

Fact is there is no genetic cure for cancer and everybody reacts very different to these 'treatments'. The wonder cured get all the attention, while all the unreported deaths stay a silent statistic.

Until a general cure REALLY exists, I refuse to do any tests that might predict if I have cancer or not.
Knowing that I have the 'cancer gene' would mean I will from then on continue with a miserable life, even if it could be somewhat extended with expensive treatments and nasty side effects, I will then know I will die a miserable death from it.

Rather not know and live what I have left happy, while enjoying healthy food and die fairly suddenly if it needs to be, without enduring suffering for me and my family or heavy burden on our heath scare system.

Update: A deletion of features that work well and ain't broke but are deemed outdated in order to add things that are up to date and broken.
