oscillator_1,
Thanks for the links
The Update and Instructions work great on my TomTom One.
Thanks Guys!
oscillator_1,
Thanks for the links
Greg,
Do we really need TT Home to install firmware/nav_core and maps on Tomtom device?
Can we just un-zip the files and copy it to the SD card?
Please advice.
Thanks
Hi
I have just tried with my TOM TOM One New Edition V3 and didnt seem to work. I will put the steps i did and maybe someone can tell me where i went wrong
Add the two files - Meta.txt, tt7_keygen.exe and your v7 map folder, in this example I'll use the Australia_Map_v700.1491 map
c:\Keygen\Meta.txt (file)
c:\Keygen\tt7_keygen.exe (file)
c:\Keygen\Australia_Map_v700.1491(folder)
Start your Command Prompt :-
Start -> run -> cmd -> OK
Type in :-
cd C:\KeyGen click ”Enter”
Type in :-
tt7_keygen.exe Australia_Map_v700.1491 ABCDE12345 (Replace this with YOUR DeviceID)
Press ENTER
You should then see OK - if not then you have got something wrong.
In C:\Keygen i had The folder called Australia_Map_v700.1491 with 11 files. Then i had the meta.txt and keygen.exe entered the DeviceID came up OK and another file was created in the Australia_Map_v700.1491 folder called Australia-4meta.dct.
Unzip the file named 'Patch' to a folder on your PC
Copy your file named 'ttsystem' from your Tomtom Memory Card in this folder with all the Patch files.
Run the 'RunMe.bat' (Double click on it), wait, you have now a ttsystem and a ttsystem.old, copy the file named 'ttsystem' back to your Memory Card.
Done that made a folder called 2 and copied all into then i copied the file from the TomTom SD card called ttsystem into this folder then i clicked on RunMe.bat and i get a couple of errors. the first says gzip.exe has encountered a problem, i click dont send then Patcher.exe has encountered a problem and i click dont send then i get gzip.exe again and in the folder i have 2 new files ttsystem and ttsystem.old, ttsystem is only 64 bytes seems small.
I then copied all the files from the new map into the map folder on the SD card and deleted all the old ones. I also copied the meta.txt into that folder and also in the root dir. Then tried to reboot and nothing. I am using XPSP2 could there be a problem there and am i doing all the right way. wasnt sure where you put the meta.txt file and where to put the map folder as well. And is this compatible with my Version of TomTom

Had no problem patching and installing the new v7 maps on my one XL.
looks like you Patched the maps for v700 correctly.
You then need to copy the Australia_Map_v700.1491 folder over to your tomtom. Do not overwrite your existing Maps folder. You should now have 2 map folders. Australia and Australia_Map_v700.1491 on your tomtom.
The ttsystem file from my v7.162 (one xl) is 5.51mb patched in size.
Looks like your patched ttsystem file is corrupt or was unable to find the ttsystem file to be patched.
Try this.
Copy the file TTSYSTEM.OLD (should be about 5mb) to your hard drive and rename it ttsystem. Then copy it back to your tomtom overwrite the exising ttsystem file. Reboot and see if your TT is booting up correctly.
Then just copy the TTSYSTEM file to the folder on your HDD containing the patch files. (from patch.zip). (6 files + TTSYSTEM file) Then execute the runme.bat file). Once patched copy the newly created TTSYSTEM & TTSYSTEM.old back to your tomtom and overwrite the existing files.
If everything worked fine, you should be greeted with TOMTOM asking to choose a map (if your current map has been removed).
Also delete the cspeech_AUS.dat file from the maps folder, they just contain the text to speech files and are not needed on the one series
Use TT home v2.2 and patched DLL file
you need the patched DLL File before otherwise TomTom Home v2 will not be able to recognise any of your v7 maps.
all the patched dlls and information can be found there.
Home is used to download quickfix gps, firmware, home updates and easily removing installed items. Most other things like installing maps and POI' scan be done manually.
i hav a tomtom go710 i folo the instructions and still it is v6.75.1431 (australia map)
i copied the .dct file into the 'Australia' folder and i copied both the ttsystem file (OLD) and patched ttsystem file which i replaced the 1 on the SD. i also copied the new aus map folder 'Australia_Map_v705_1485' into the SD with the .dct file in it
surely im doin it right :S or mayb not?
my tomtom home is version 2.2.0.33
ne help plz?
Thanks for the hand before greg got map working fine but didnt ask me which one to pick i changed manually np:-) But i dont know where to put this patched dll file i Dl from link. it is Navcore.7.162.8492.1.dll where do i put it and do i do anything with it? And i downloaded the new version from TT it asked me to update and its v2.2.033
This off another site so hope i can post ie if not just delete it
C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\m1xkagjq.default\extensi ons\Navcore.7.221.8572@tomtom.com
The home patch file offering on TTUser's latest Navcore version still works fine if renamed to the target filename, typically 7-221-8572-3.dll
I put the file into C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\8rj6803d.default\extensi ons\Navcore.7.163.8493@tomtom.com. I have both DLL files 7-163-8493-3.dll and 7-221-8572-3.dll. I have put both into theabove directory and when i log into ttHome and goto Show contents of my One and goto maps it only shows the old version 6.5 is this correct. Below is a copy of System info. What am i doing wrong?

With the meta.txt filw where does it go on the TT dir or root or in map?
Hi i put the file 7-221-8572-3.dll into
C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\m1xkagjq.default\extensi ons\Navcore.7.221.8572@tomtom.com
and renamed it to 7-163-8493-3.dll but i ziped the orinagle file up first
and delted it and every thing worked and let me update
I have updated my TomTom GO500 and everything works great, but when tried to do the same update on a mates TomTom GO910 cannot get it to work. is there a different procedure or is it just not possible to do?
Just wondering if the problem is that the Meta.txt file says Australia_700.1491 and when you do the dct file you put in tt7_keygen.exe Australia_Map_v700.1491 ABCDE12345 would this make a difference as i had no trouble putting the New Zealand map on and being seen as its the same on the Meta.txt file
Should i delete the old version map in TT
The Map folder goes into the Root directory, the TTsystem file created goes into the root directory to replace original.
Thanks to all TomTom one all fired up with new maps
Thanks for that yes i have done all that and TT is working fine i am having problems with TTHome seeing the Australia map. I have done everything mentioned i think. I have even downloaded the 7.05.1485 map and tried and the TTHome doesnt see it. I have got the right meta.txt and then ran keygen file says ok put into root of TT and TTHome still dont see. I see the New Zealand map i put in with np.
Think i might have it now. I deleted all the other Australia maps out of the root dir and now its seem by TTHome that includes V6. Thanks for the help all and a lot of trail and error...
Does anyone know how to use the "safety camera" in the v705 map? cheers
MY gps is tomtom 510
