Default "Adapter" plate for induction cooktop

Any one with first hand experience whether these work or not i.e using non-induction cookware on an induction cooktop?

    Comments please - efficiency, problems ... .

I'd just go out and buy the correct pan. I have an induction cooktop, and have never been game enough to try one of those. However, the cooktops are supposedly able to handle that sort of heat. I had a glass radiant heat cooktop that did not get turned off one evening and it shattered into a million pieces so, I tend to be somewhat wary of letting them get too hot.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Looks like your element was faulty as it has an inbuilt thermostat to turn off when it gets to hot.
