Default VAST - New channel for possible WA VAST Viewers

New channel with repeating promo of various towns around Australia.
The promo is very similar to the ones VAST had during add breaks when it first started.

It's on the TP containing mainly VAST WA bouquet channels, so could mean it is another channel coming soon for WA VAST viewers.

    TP: 12369V
    PID: 1540/1541/1540
    Provider: Optus 010

Its been there a few weeks and opens using a regular VAST card. Not sure if it will be some sort of regional channel or they are just using it for bandwidth testing.

If that was the case, the WA VAST service would be the best pick of all three services.

If WA did get My Money, in addition to the SkyNews channel already there, plus the current HD on main channels, the other two services (eastern) are the poorer cousins and really missing out.

yep, it's a bit of a joke our eastern VAST service, with mainly SD channels.
The whole Idea of this service was to give us blackspot rural viewers the same access to HD quality TV that everyone else gets??

Lucky it only cost me a small fortune to get it here, with 2 crappy UEC boxes.
    Cheers, Tiny

This channel has been relayed terrestrially across WA on the Nine West mux since it began in November. It's named "Ch-54" on terrestrial instead of "54 WA". My bet is it will become 9Life once Nine West negotiate a deal.

For a bit of background; Nine West, along with Imparja, Nine Griffith, Nine Mildura, Nine SA and Nine Tasmania were all given notice this year by ACMA over not broadcasting enough Australian content required by law. This is because some of Nine's Aussie shows have moved to 9Life and aren't seen on Nine, 9Go! or 9Gem anymore. Sources: 1) 2)

So far, Nine SA and Nine Tasmania have launched 9Life in the last few months. Imparja now also show alternate Aussie programs in the mornings on 9Go! instead of Home Shopping to make up the difference. Nine West, Mildura and Griffith are yet to do anything.
