    Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows what this is and how best to deal with it and the seeds it drops. The lawn is a mess......

    looks like paspalum ,bunnings has a weed control specially for it

    Thanks for the reply fandtm666, I looked up some pic's of paspalam, but the seeds look different.

    no dont get it in their ears dangerous then don
    cut it before it dries then its ok green seeds ?

    Yeah, mow your lawn, Paspalum Notatum is used as a lawn in some areas, and that does NOT look like any Paspalum that I know. As Hinekadon has suggested, probably Rye grass.

    Looks like Rye Grass to me
    I get it also, i just pull it out before the seeds drop.

    Generally is a sign a lawn is not fertilised correctly, hence the weeds or hardy species out grow the grass.

    You could spot spray it while actively growing (very important point) or remove it by hand.
    Then build your soil up so the lawn can flourish
    If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

    Use weed and feed.
    Don't spot spay but brush the offenders with glyphosate(Roundup) on a dry day.
    Update: A deletion of features that work well and ain't broke but are deemed outdated in order to add things that are up to date and broken.
    Compatibility: A word soon to be deleted from our dictionaries as it is outdated.
    Humans: Entities that are not only outdated but broken... AI-self-learning-update-error...terminate...terminate...
