Most rotors do have surface rust on them. It's usually only the areas not swept by the pads, nothing to worry about.
Kia 2018 rear left rotor has rust mark around the center of the rotor. Never seen this issue before. It's around 10cm wide. The pad obviously not touching that area. It'll be taken to dealership for repair, but just wondering what the cause might be.
. Cheers and Merry Christmas.

I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
be very hard to find a concave rotor . as a result of your driving habits this can occur by the way you stop this wheel is normally the last to reach the road or first to be off the seal . you say its a 2018 kia therefore it hasnt travelled very far so the discs havent been totally worn in . how long it takes depends on your driving so worry about this after 20k not before ! cheers

Maybe be oil or some contamination on the brake pad. The pad shouldn't be that bad out of whack to show such a rust trail on a new car unless it was almost never driven.
Insist on replacement.

maybe it will go away over time , but its possible that there is not enough hydraulic pressure from the brake piston to squeeze the disc properly.
