Really distessing to hear of Gordon's passing on, always enjoyed reading his informative and witty remarks.
Not the best Christmas news for his family things will be rather subdued for them. My condolences to all his family and friends out at Rydal.

Very sad to hear. He was a gentleman on this forum, and I have no doubt he was a true gentleman in life.
This is very sad news. Gordon was part of this forum for so long. Will miss him greatly. RIP Gordon.
RIP Gordon.
RIP Gordon
A very sad thing. I also enjoyed reading Gordon's posts, and as has already been said, he always seemed like a true gentleman. Sorry to hear you are no longer with us Gordon.
And condolences to his family.
Better late than never they say.......
I havent spent a lot of time on the forum over the last 2 years as my father in law passed away and my mother in law lives off grid rural and I have had to spend a lot of time going up there. My father in law died on Dec 1st two years ago, also of kidney failure.
Further to mtv's words, Gordon has been a regular here for many many years. How long exactly I dont know, but as mtv mentioned he was here prior to the 2008 server crash so it could even be as long as 15 years I think. He had nearly 14,000 posts.
Ironically, as a member of a technology forum Gordon would be the first to admit he found technology a challenge at times. But he enjoyed it and the tinkering, I reckon his local Aldi store did well out of him over the years As a member, Austech could ask for no more from a person. Gordon would be on here almost every day unless he had an appointment of some kind, and despite being on a pension Gordon would always make sure he paid his Premium Membership every year. In fact, he usually paid it twice by mistake Almost every year I would reverse a transaction as he would forget he had set it for auto renewal. I will set his account to permanently show Premium Member always.
If Austech was physically a place, I reckon Gordon would be the first to turn up every morning and put the kettle on. Thanks for your time, effort and loyalty Gordon, RIP.
Col, if you could pass on Austech's condolences to his son and wife it would be appreciated. In honor of Gordon's long service to the site, I will run a message at the top of the site for a few days with a link to this thread.
RIP Gordon No one can prepare you for a loss; it comes like a swift wind. However, take comfort in knowing that he is now resting in the arms of our Lord. My deepest condolences to you and your family
