Default Samsung Galaxy S9 price drop

I notice Telstra has had a very large price drop on the Samsung Galaxy S9.

$69 a month with 30 gb of data on contract is cheaper or on par with Optus and Vodafone's offerings, something that is very rarely seen.

I notice on that page, if you click on the CIS (Critical Information Summary) that it shows the "Family and Friends Plan" has $49 and $69 options.

    $49 = 10 gb
$69 = 20 gb (there is a 10 gb bonus on the offer)

I might contact them on live chat and see if I can get one for $49 a month, which is an unbeatable deal if I can get it. As good as the $69 plan is, I would struggle to use 20 gb and would be happier if I could save $20 a month.

It was worth a try, but no go. They said if you take the $49 option, your device repayment goes up to match the $69.

Still very tempting @$69, wish I had some use for 30 gig of data though.

    I bit the bullet.

I also get to keep my current leased Samsung Galaxy S8+ for $300, which I will give to my wife. I also got a free Google Home Mini.

Tempted to do the same. Currently on Telstra $39 for 35GB with POM Data, BYO.

This upgrade will essentially mean paying an extra $720 over 24 Months for the phone. You still got the Google Home mini after the 24/12?

Actually I am very impressed with Telstra. I signed up for wireless NBN just prior to Christmas and they committed to being ready for the 15th January which I thought was reasonable given that our area has only just been cut over to the NBN in the last week or so. I just had a call from the installer today, and he is going to do the install on 4th!
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

According to the order, yes. I'll post back after delivery. I was surprised to get it.
