    Default Tacho Problem

I have one of the aftermarket 8gran tachos in an xw, normally when the ignition is turned on the tacho needle goes up to about 8 gran then back to zero before starting the engine

Now it just stays on zero when key is turned on then shows the engine revs when started, but stutters up and down about 50 sometimes 100 rpm, and continues to the same when driving although revs seem to be correct

I have tested the sensor wire to the coil and seems ok, 12 volt to tacho is good and earth is also good

    Any ideas anyone

That's not an XW that's an XT! (in your Avatar).
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
